GRS Motorsport's main focus has been producing effective and efficient intercoolers for a variety of Ford based cars, as well as some other popular makes and models. Having proven their effectiveness, customers have approached GRS Motorsport to make custom intercoolers for many different modified vehicles which require something a little different!

Where possible GRS Motorsport develops square to round end tanks to add more efficient air flow. GRS Motorsport is believed to be the only intercooler company in the world to do this, using 22 years of skills in the sheet metal trade.

Classic Mini Intercooler

This is a custom intercooler for a supercharged classis Mini.

This customer came to me with a Porsche 968 with a turbo conversion, the intercooler that was made wasn't working efficiently enough for the demands put on the car, the customer was seeing 60 degrees inlet air temps in the winter!! Once GRSmotorsport had designed and chosen the right intercooler core and installed it, the customer drove home seeing 22 degrees outlet temps..

This is a custom designed intercooler for a Ford XR4i Twin Turbo engine.

Before the release of the GRSmotorsport large front mount intercooler, Escort RS Turbo owners were looking for a solution to improve the charge cooling capabilities on high powered engines. Two customers suggested trying a Charge Cooler AND Intercooler combination. After it was fitted the cars ACT's had dropped dramatically. However, when the GRSmotorsport large intercooler for the S2 was produced, this gave equally as impressive results, and was a lot cheaper and less difficult to fit!

To help keep costs down when modifying their cars, some customers have come to us with a standard intercooler and have asked us to modify it to better suit their needs. This particular intercooler came from a Nissan Pulsar GTi-R and was required to be modified for fitment into a Kit Car!! The picture below shows how it looked originally, and the two pictures to the left show it after the modifications had been carried out.

A customer approached us asking for an Intercooler for his classic mini - although the mini was a little different having an Audi TT Engine and gearbox fitted. With this single pass system we fabricated square to round end tanks to maximise air flow through the intercooler!
